Welcoming Our Interim Priest-in-Charge,
Rev. Susan L. Wrathall
Transition Update
The transition has officially begun and I am very happy to announce, at a special meeting, the vestry approved the call of Mother Susan Wrathall as our Interim Priest-in-Charge. Mother Susan is an experienced priest, as you’ll read in her bio. She will provide a steady, consistent presence for us during the interim. Rest assured, Trinity has a wonderful priest in our interim, and we are in good hands.
Margaret Thomas
Senior Warden
Mother Susan Wrathall moved to Pawtuxet Village in June following her retirement from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Warwick, so it is serendipitous that the part-time interim priest-in-charge position has come open, and she is delighted to accept the call to minister at Trinity.
Mother Susan has been ordained for 18 years. She graduated from the General Theological Seminary in NYC with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2006. Her first call was as Assistant to the Rector at St. Paul’s in Pawtucket, where she served for three years before moving to Warwick.
Mother Susan is also Diocesan Coordinator for Education for Ministry, and Diocesan Formation Coordinator for the Diocese. She is serving a second term as President of the Standing Committee. She is also President of the General Theological Seminary Alumni Association, and as such, serves on the Board of Trustees of both General and Virginia Seminary.
Prior to ordained ministry, Mother Susan was a special education and first grade teacher in Westerly for twenty-nine years. She feels blessed to have been called to two vocations in her life. Mother Susan has three adult children and their spouses, five grandchildren, and two grand-dogs!
With a passion for adult education and liturgy, and a love of pastoral care, she is certain to find a home at Trinity while the parish does the work to call their next priest-in-charge.
